Manufacturing of the Hyperlast range could also start in China

Hyperlast is to launch its Hyperlast brand of polyurethane products in China and has highlighted the possibility of production in the country.

The British Vita subsidiary’s Chinese partner Shanghai Carthane will become distributor of Hyperlast engineering polymers “with the objective of establishing local manufacture in the future”, the company said.

Shanghai Carthane has been manufacturing Hyperlast’s Autothane products under licence since 1995. Autothane is a microcellular PU elastomer used in automotive suspension components. Hyperlast sales director Mark Perry said: “Since that time [1995], we have grown together and the Chinese market is now driving demand for other products in our range.”

The two companies will show a broad range of PU systems for engineering applications at next week’s Shanghai PU China 2004 exhibition.
