Krones will show a Contiform S machine blow moulding 18,000 PET bottles/hour per cavity at K

Blow moulding machinery manufacturer Krones said is has managed to increase the output of its machines and will show two Contiform S machines at October’s K show blowing a record 18,000 PET bottles/hour per cavity.

The Contiform S24 on show in Dьsseldorf will achieve this record-breaking production rate in a 24-cavity mould while making 600ml PET bottles. The same output will also be achieved with a Contiform S10 with 10 cavities for 1.5-litre containers.

The machines will use the company’s Air Wizard optimisation package, which it claims saves 25% of costs in compressed air consumption – equivalent to savings of more than E100,000 a year with the Contiform S16 machine.

Contiform S machines can produce PET bottles with volumes of up to 3 litres. Depending on the number of blow-moulding stations and the bottle size, up to 12,800 containers/hour can be produced with the S8 and up to 44,800 containers/hour with the S28.
