The firm has invested in five new production lines

Israel’s Tosaf Compounds will take its compounding and masterbatch capacity to 80,000 tonnes a year by the end of 2004 as a result of investment in five new Leistritz lines.

The new machines are divided between two Israeli sites and the Colloids business on Merseyside where the company recently bought the share in the business held by John Dilley and his management team (PRW.com 20 April).

One is designed to make speciality compound and additive masterbatches and is located at the Afula site in Israel. The other four are designed for masterbatch manufacture and are divided between Kfar Yona in Israel and the Colloids facility. The UK investment is focused on strengthening Colloids’ position in the small lot supply of masterbatch. As PRW reported 30 July, seven new silos are also being installed at the site.

Tosaf has a workforce of 420 people and expects to turn over E110m this year. The business is a joint venture of Megides Holding and Ravago. Its product range includes speciality additive and colour masterbatch, UV/light stabilisers, flame retardants and customised additives.
