The company will show a small screw with high plastification rates at K2004

French injection moulding machinery manufacturer Billion will demonstrate a new type of injection screw at October’s K show. The company claims that its ISC technology combines the precision of a small screw with very high plastification rates. For example, it has developed a 60mm screw that has the plastification rate of a 120mm version.

Billion says that this overcomes a common problem in moulding, where moulders adopt larger screw diameters in order to boost output, but lose out on precision. The company sees particular application for the technology in packaging, and will launch a new range of high speed machines at K with clamping forces of 125 to 400 tonnes.

The 400-tonne model will be shown at K in conjunction with the new ISC technology.
