BASF to increase prices for styrene-butadiene copolymer
Effective August 1st, BASF will increase the prices for its plastic material Styrolux® in Europe. The prices for Styrolux will be increased by 200 ˆ per metric ton. This measure is due to the extremely strong and continuous price increase for the raw materials and their feedstock – mainly benzene - since the beginning of 2004. Styrolux is a styrene-butadiene copolymer. It is used in extrusion applications, mainly in food packaging, for one-way dishes and for injection-moulded products in household and office.
