The injection moulding machinery maker said all-electrics are no more expensive than hydraulic or hybrids
All-electric injection moulding machines are in many cases no more expensive than comparable hydraulic or hybrid machines, according to Germany machinery manufacturer Ferromatik. The company said the demonstration of its Elektra evolution machines at October’s K show “should suffice to eradicate the last vestiges of the cost myth regarding electrically driven machines”. Ferromatik said the slightly higher initial investment associated with fully electric machines is usually recouped by lower operating costs within the first year. But it claimed there was in many cases no premium for its all-electric Elektra evolution machines. “Our experience shows that in many cases the investment cost hurdle no longer exists. Equally specified fully-hydraulic machines would have to be equipped with parallel functions in all axes and be outfitted with costly hydraulic technology in order to duplicate the features of the electrically driven Elektra evolution machine and therefore become more expensive than all-electric machines.” Source: PRW.com Previous news |
