The Italian company’s plant in Zhuhai will start up at the end of 2004
Rapid market growth in China has led Italian ancillary machine maker Piovan to set up a production plant in China. More dryers were sold in China in 2003 than for the rest of the world. This factor, combined with annual GDP growth of 9.5%, have supported the decision by Piovan to establish a base in the country. The Piovan China Manufacturing Centre will be located in Zhuhai, in the south of Guangdong province. Piovan will use it as a base to supply the entire Chinese plastics processing industry once it comes on stream by the end of 2004. There will be 20 employees in the plant, in addition to sales, administrative and after-sales service staff. The products made there will be tri-phase feeders, single and twin-tower dryers with air flow up to 200 cubic metres and its TW6 and TO6 compact temperature controllers.
