The Hangshou plant will produce 800 million closures a year
Alcoa has completed construction of a second plastics closures factory in China and has already started production.
The 8,125 sq metre plant in Hangzhou, south of Shanghai, will produce plastic closures primarily for export to beverage producers in Japan. The US company’s Closure Systems International business also has a plant in Tianjin. Annual production capacity at Hangzhou is currently 800 million closures from two lines, but the plant has the capability to expand to eight lines. The products being made are AS-Lok, a linerless closure for aseptically filled bottles, and PS-Lok II, a linerless closure for hot filled bottles. Plant manager Haruyuki Fujiwara said: “Construction of the plant began last January and was completed on time and safely.” Source: PRW.com Previous news |
