Nupac specialised in PET bottles up to 4 litres

UK blow moulder Nupac has been acquired by Nampak from the Caparo Group, PRW.com has learned. Tewkesbury-based Nupac has specialised in PET bottles from 10ml to 4 litres having slimmed down its earlier, broader portfolio which also included injection moulding.

The business was acquired by Lord Paul’s Caparo steel making group several years ago. It had ambitious growth plans and in 2002 extended its position in the PET stretch blow moulding field with investment in new Automa equipment.

However a significant proportion of the blow moulding equipment had been sold prior to the Nampak deal, of which no details have been revealed. Nampak’s major PET processing activities are carried out at the former AMK Plastics business in South Wales.
