ABB, Fanuc and Kuka are among the founder members

A new European trade association for the robotics industry has been formed by some of the continent’s leading suppliers and system makers. The European Robotics Association, which will more commonly use the name Eunited Robotics, has been founded by ABB, Comau, Fanuc, Güdel, Kuka and Reis.

Stefan Müller has been elected president of the association for two years. The vice president is Kai Wärn of ABB Sweden and the provisional managing director is Thilo Brodtmann of VDMA Robotics & Automation.

Eunited Robotics said in a statement that it will be the “voice of robot manufacturers and system integrators” across Europe and will form contacts with the EU.

“The new association is the co-operation platform between all stakeholders – from research institutes to national associations and customers,” it said. The association is based in Brussels and intends to become a member of the International Federation of Robotics.
