The material, supplied by GE Plastics, is used in six Euro 2004 venues

GE Plastics’ material is playing its part at the Uefa Euro 2004 Championships in Portugal. Lexan Thermoclear sheet has been used as roof glazing material at six stadiums. Dragгo stadium, scene of Portugal’s shock defeat to Greece, incorporates 35,200m2 of Lexan Thermoclear X-structure sheet.

The sheet is UV-protected on both sides and has an X-shaped internal configuration giving stiffness, load resistance, high impact strength and thermal insulation properties according to GE Plastics.

The final will be held at Lisbon’s Luz stadium, which has fully covered seating for 65,000 spectators. UV-coated 32mm thick Lexan Thermoclear X-structure sheet was specified for the roof’s 10,600m2 glazed area. Luz is host to several other Euro 2004 matches, including the England-France match last Sunday.
