Kazanorgsintez has signed an agreement with Univation TechnologiesKazanorgsintez has signed an agreement with Univation Technologies A major Russian PE maker is to triple its capacity to more than half a million tonnes a year through a licensing agreement with Univation Technologies. Kazanorgsintez will expand two of its existing three Unipol reactors to 220,000tpa each and also add new PE technologies to its slate. Under the licensing deal, the Tatarstan-based company will add Univation’s newest bimodal HDPE film and PE-100 pipe technologies in a programme to be completed in 2006. “Eastern European PE producers have to upgrade their polyethylene plants and expand their product offering if they want to compete effectively in the world marketplace,” said Leonid Alekhin, chairman of Kazanorgsintez.
