Purchase of Rustin Allen will give PAL a wider customer basePurchase of Rustin Allen will give PAL a wider customer base The assets and continuing business of Edgware-based profile extruder Rustin Allen, which went into voluntary liquidation last month, have been bought from the liquidator by the West Midlands-based PAL Group. Some equipment will be transferred to the new owner’s Wednesbury factory in due course. Founded in 1979 by Nigel Rustin and Ray Allen, the company was the largest UK profile maker for the furniture industry. It was unable to survive the move offshore of its major customer Stanley Doors. Liquidator Mazars was appointed last month and all 32 staff were made redundant. PAL Group was formed in 1994 by the merger of two firms in extrusion and adhesive tapes. PAL chairman Peter Lowe said: “The purchase of Rustin Allen will allow a wider customer base access to our complete range, including tambour doors, edging profiles, management systems and many other extrusions. “We will offer quick, efficient turnaround to our Rustin Allen customers,” he added.
