UK firm Plastic Logic leads group tasked with integrating the materials

UK polymer electronics specialist Plastic Logic is to participate in a E24m European project to develop smart materials for use in plastic electronics. The project will be coordinated by Belgium’s Université Libre de Bruxelles and involve 22 partners, including chemicals companies, semi-conductor manufacturers and other universities and research institutes.

Materials developed by the Naimo project will be used in a range of products, from flexible electronic paper displays to RFID tags and sensors. Plastic Logic will lead the working group tasked with integrating the materials that will be developed into useful devices.

The company was established in 2000 as a spin-off from the University of Cambridge. It employs more than 30 staff at its base in the Cambridge Science Park.
