The new sheet extrusion die cuts changeover time by a factor of ten

A new ISR II slot die developed by extrusion machinery manufacturer Reifenhдuser can cut the typical time needed to change sheet and film products from 30 minutes to just three minutes, the company has claimed.

Reifenhдuser said it was normal to make several product changes within a working shift during board, thermoforming sheet and film production, so the ability to make a fast die change is important.

The ISR II internal slot regulation system eliminates the need to undo fastening screws and to use pressure and thrust screws to displace the interchangeable lower die lip for a change in film or sheet thickness up to 14mm.

Roller bearings support the complete low maintenance adjustment system, resulting in low friction and wear for the system that is operated manually during production by means of an easy-access single adjusting spindle on the operator's side of the line.
