The group claims its materials for cosmetic packaging provide sparkling visual effects

GE Advanced Materials has launched materials for cosmetic packaging that it claims provide flow and design freedom with good chemical resistance and sparkling visual effects. The solution combines Xylex resin, LNP’S Thermocomp HSG compounds and Visualfx resin technologies. Xylex provides chemical resistance, UV resistance, transparency and clarity, high-impact strength and high temperature resistance.

The Visualfx resin technology allows designers to add a sparkle, shimmer or metallic quality to packaging. GE Advanced Materials said the resins create colourful and rich looking parts without the need for secondary paint and coating operations.

LNP’S Thermocomp HSG compounds provide a heavier feel that designers can use to impart a high-quality feel. The compounds are injection mouldable, colourable and lead-free.
