The project could require a new HDPE bottle blowing facilityThe project could require a new HDPE bottle blowing facility Robert Wiseman Dairies is considering an expansion project at its UK milk dairies, which could require a new HDPE bottle blowing facility. Finance director Gerry Sweeney told PRW.com that a decision on the project would be made in the late summer. Two options are being considered – increasing capacity at either its Manchester or Droitwich facility or building a new facility. If the company chooses the latter option, a new blow moulding facility would have to be built adjacent to the site, he said. The most likely location for the facility would be Manchester, he said, to serve the customer base there. Alpla operates a hole-through-the-wall facility at the Droitwich Spa dairy. Robert Wiseman would hold a public tender for the supply of bottles to the project, but Sweeney said this is good practice and is not a reflection of its relationship with Alpla. The annual capacity of the project would be in the region of 250 million litres of liquid dairy. The Droitwich Spa dairy has been steadily increasing throughput since it started operations in April 2001 and is now producing at around 400 million litres a year. Source: PRW.com Previous news |
