The 5,000 sq metre factory is based in Timisoara, close to the Hungarian border. Twenty people will initially be employed at the site with the workforce growing to 45, a British Vita spokeswoman told PRW.com. She said employees would be local people. The factory will receive foam blocks from Vita’s new foam production facility at Paks in Hungary, she said. The Romanian site will cut the PU into shapes suitable for use in the furniture industry. British Vita said Romania had benefited from a rapid expansion in furniture and bedding manufacture, brought about through recent investment by Western European furniture manufacturers.
