St. Petersburg Company’s parent wins Queen’s Award

An English Company,which set up an Office in St Petersburg last year, has today earned a highly prestigious Quen's Award for Enterprise.b + h Polymers, which supplies PET Resin used to make plastic bottles,won the award in the International Trade section after turnover doubled to Рв‚В60 million pounds in the last financial year.75% of its business is carried out abroad.

The company opened its Office in St Petersburgh in May 2003.Local Manager,Lolita Ebril, said that the award was recognition of the success b and h Poloymers has achieved in the last few years."Turnover has rocketed since we launched our own Elixir brand of PET resin two years ago.We took the decision to open a representative office in St Petersburg to look after our growing interests in Russia."

Managing Director Peter Hutchinson says his company has come a long way since he launched it in 1993 by spending Рв‚В3000 of his savings to buy two bags of resin.He said the firm now provides 100,000 metric tonnes of PET worlrdwide each year.

"We are in a unique position in the way we produce and supply PET.He said."We've looked at the whole supply chain from production to site delivery.Critically we can deliver high performance,low cost resin all over the world.

Mr Hutchinson is confident for the future."To-day''s award recognises what we've done so far.We're looking forward to further rapid expansion in Russia and our other overseas markets in the coming years."
