French PVC profile extruder will acquire the unit, subject to competition authorities approval

French PVC profile extruder Plastival is to acquire the PVC housing profiles business of Acфme for an undisclosed sum. Based in Clerval, eastern France, Plastival manufactures PVC profiles for doors, windows, fences and wall cladding. It is a subsidiary of Tessenderlo Group, and in combination with sister company Profex, Plastival posted a turnover of E60m in 2003.

Plastival chairman Albert Vasseur said: “Through its two subsidiaries – Plastival and Profex – Tessenderlo Group is enlarging its presence into the French strategic market in becoming one of France’s leaders in PVC profiles for housing applications.”

The sale will allow Acфme to focus on its three other businesses in telecoms cables, electrical cables, and plumbing and underfloor heating pipes. The company is based in Morvain, Normandy, and has plants in China and Brazil. The deal is subject to approval from French competition authorities.
