British Vita has started work on its E7.9m manufacturing facilityBritish Vita has started work on its E7.9m manufacturing facility British Vita has broken ground on its E7.9m manufacturing facility at Paks, Hungary, to produce polyurethane foams for the furniture and bedding industries. Initial sales from the facility are estimated at E10m and are projected to double when the site becomes fully operational. Commissioning will begin in the second half of the year, with first production expected in the third quarter. British Vita director Keith Bradshaw said: “PU foams are very bulky so we need to be located near our furniture manufacturing clients. We expect growing business in Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Romania, as many western furniture companies have set up manufacturing sites in these countries.” Government organisation UK Trade and Investment supported British Vita in Hungary and helped it select the production site, obtain market information and reach the relevant authorities.
