Dow Raises ABS, SAN and PC Prices in EuropeDow Raises ABS, SAN and PC Prices in Europe The Dow Chemical Company announced today that it will raise the prices of its MAGNUM* acrylonitrile butadiene styrene resins, TYRIL* styrene-acrylonitrile resins, CALIBRE* polycarbonate resins and EMERGE* advanced resins across North America with 6 cts/lbs. The price increase will be effective May 1st. "This price increase is driven by our need to restore margins to more acceptable levels. The now escalating feedstock costs combined with product prices that are unsustainable have meant a severe deterioration in our margin. We need to restore our profitability to ensure that we can meet market needs in the long-term", says Sander van Veen, product director Europe. Dow is a leader in science and technology, providing innovative chemical, plastic and agricultural products and services to many essential consumer markets. With annual sales of $33 billion, Dow serves customers in more than 180 countries and a wide range of markets that are vital to human progress, including food, transportation, health and medicine, personal and home care, and building and construction, among others. Committed to the principles of sustainable development, Dow and its approximately 46,000 employees seek to balance economic, environmental and social responsibilities.
