Ambersil Ltd has developed a cost-effective cleaning product

Ambersil Ltd has developed a cost-effective cleaning product for quickly and easily removing old resin from production machinery.

Polyklene R is a granulated cleaning material for removing resin from barrel, screw and hot runner systems. Ambersil says the product is as easy to process as a polymer and expands into the dead areas around the screw and front zone, removing difficult to manage colours (in granulated, powder or liquid form) and degraded production polymer.

The non-abrasive, non-toxic material is odourless and is said to be safe, easy and ready to use. Using Polyklene R is said to greatly reduce consumption of production polymer, which is normally used to purge out difficult colours. With process temperatures in line with production materials, Ambersil also says there are none of the extra costs often associated with the use of high melt materials such as cracked acrylic.

Polyklene R is suitable for use in injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding, blown film and processing of thermoplastic materials.
