The group has bought Retrim in the Czech Republic that has technology to recycle the material

DuPont has bought a safety glass interlayer company in the Czech Republic that has expertise in recycling of PVB materials. Retrim has technology that allows the re-use of polyvinyl butyral material produced during the manufacture of automotive and architectural laminated glass.

The purchase extends DuPont’s network of sites in the US, Korea and Germany for its Butacite and SentryGlas interlayer materials. The deal, for which terms were not disclosed, was approved by the Czech government last month. DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers general manager Craig Binetti said: “Adding a safety glass interlayer manufacturing plant and PVB expertise in the Czech Republic bolsters DuPont’s presence in central and Eastern Europe so we can be a preferred supplier and innovator in those markets.”
