The 55-60 tonnes an hour system will be installed by Basell Orlen Polyolefins

The world’s largest PP compounding and pelletising system is to be built in Poland this year, equipment supplier Coperion has claimed. The system has a throughput of 55-60 tonnes an hour and will be installed by Basell Orlen Polyolefins at the Plock petrochemical complex, 100km north-west of Warsaw. Commissioning is scheduled for early 2005.

It comprises a twin-screw ZSK 380 Megacompounder cowered by a 14 MW motor, an automatic non-stop screen pack changer and the largest underwater PP pelletiser. Basell Orlen Polyolefins is a joint venture between Polish chemicals firm PKN Orlen and Basell.
