The Austrian group becomes the European leader in PVC stabilisers and additivesThe Austrian group becomes the European leader in PVC stabilisers and additives Austria’s Chemson group has acquired Allstab, taking it to the top position in the European market. The deal gives Chemson a leading PVC stabiliser and additive business in Europe with a E200m turnover and 650 employees. Allstab operates three plants in Germany at Duren, Dahlem and Greiz. together with one at Roermond, in The Netherlands. It employs 210 people and has sales of E60m. It was formed through a management buy-out in 2002 of the former Akcros rigids business. The Allstab business will come under the German subsidiary of Chemson. When the integration process is complete, the headquarters of Chemson in Germany will move to Duren. Chemson, itself the subject of a management buy-out from Chemetall in 2000, is a global player with a UK plant at Wallsend, north-east England.
