Honeywell opens European additives application laboratoryHoneywell opens European additives application laboratory Honeywell has opened a European application laboratory for its Specialty Additives business at the company's manufacturing site and Research Center in Seelze, Germany. The company says that the new laboratory is fully equipped for plastics processing including PVC and emulsion technology. According to the company, the new laboratory will expand its Additives and Wax business. The goal is to increase customer support to develop new lubricant system solutions. Honeywell believes that this will be particularly important in the light of technology changes in PVC stabilizer systems in Europe and the need to support customers during this transition period. The application laboratory will work with the Research Center, production and customers to support PVC formulation development and generate value-added solutions, says the company. The laboratory is fully equipped to conduct extrusion, rheology, physical testing, mechanical testing, thermo-stability testing and plate-out performance. It is integrated in the Research and Development department of the Seelze facility, and is said to complement the global laboratory capabilities in the company's other Specialty Additives facilities in Morristown, New Jersey, USA and Singapore. Honeywell's Specialty Additives business manufactures low molecular weight polyolefin polymers. The product range includes AC® Performance Additives and Rheochem® lubricants that help optimize PVC processing, enhance mechanical properties of the end product and improve dispersion for pigments and fillers for the plastics industry.
