The group is forming a joint venture to manufacturer parts for Volkswagen

Eaton Corporation is to form a joint venture in China to manufacture automotive hoses and tubes for Volkswagen. The joint venture with Changzhou Senstar Automobile Air Conditioner Co will make hose and tube assemblies for air conditioning and power steering systems.

Eaton will own 55% of the joint venture company, named Eaton Senstar Automotive Fluid Connector (Shanghai) Co, which will be established early this year following regulatory approval. Plans are for production to be located in Eaton’s existing truck transmission and hydraulics facility in Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao free trade zone.

Eaton senior vice-president Craig Arnold said: “This joint venture effectively combines the expertise of Senstar and Eaton and builds on the strong customer relationship that both companies have with Volkswagen.”
