Administrative receivers have made redundancies at a 100-year-old UK machinery firm. BDO Stoy Hayward is trying to sell Carter Brothers’ business. A BDO spokeswoman told PRW.com the company had last week made 35 redundancies out of its workforce of around 70. It announced a further eight job losses last Friday.

Carter Brothers manufactures and supplies rubber and plastics machinery from its site in Rochdale. Its products include its own range of internal mixers. The spokeswoman added the company had fallen into trouble because of manufacturing moving overseas.
