The water filter company will move from Sunbury to BicesterThe water filter company will move from Sunbury to Bicester Water filter market leader Brita is to expand its UK operation and move into a new factory in Bicester later this year. The German company plans to invest more than E15m in its UK business, citing the competitive advantage of UK manufacture based on the rise of the euro against sterling. The expansion will mean that Brita will leave its existing plant at Sunbury-on-Thames and for the first time have a full state of the art facility for complete on line UK manufacture of Brita filter cartridges. The plant will manufacture for export to the continent as well as supplying the UK market. Plastics, thought to be polypropylene, are used for the filter cases, although the extent of the company’s moulding commitment at the new plant is unclear at this stage. Brita says its investments have contributed to a growth in the market for water filters from £57m (E83m) to £96m (E138m) over the past four years. Source: PRW.com Previous news |
