The results are due next month: EC votes on PET anti-dumping measures

The PET industry will have to wait until next month for the European Commission’s decision on anti-dumping measures against producers in three countries. The EC last week took a vote on measures under which duties could be imposed on imports of PET resin. Member states voted after the EC received complaints about cheap imports of resin from China, Pakistan and Australia.

PRW.com understands the results of the vote will be published on 22 February. PRW.com reported in June that the EC had launched an inquiry into PET dumping following complaints from the Association of Plastics Manufacturers in Europe.

Since 2000 the EC has imposed duties on imports of PET from various producers in Thailand, India, Malaysia and Korea at up to E49.1 a tonne.
