The group is building a tooling centre at Nypro-Moscow's facility

Nypro Nypro is to build the first US-owned mouldmaking facility in Russia, after receiving a $2.7m (E2.1m) loan from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. The US government agency’s loan is part of a $4m-$5m (E3.1m-E3.9m) investment in a tooling centre at Nypro-Moscow’s facility which will make moulds for the company and other injection moulders in Russia.

Nypro chairman Gordon Lankton said: “We intend to establish a world-class mouldmaking operation, with the best mould making equipment available anywhere.” Nypro-Moscow has recently been awarded significant contracts from Gillette, Procter and Gamble and Ford. Russian customers include Ulex, which supplies cups to Aeroflot and other airlines, and electronics company Okteon.

Nypro-Moscow’s plant is located in a newly renovated 11,500 sq metre building and runs 11 injection moulding machines on a 24/7 basis.
