The Japanese injection assembly technology company advises companies to use SEBS from KraiburgThe Japanese injection assembly technology company advises companies to use SEBS from Kraiburg Taiseiplas has warned injection moulders that they may face prosecution in the US and Japan if their two-component mouldings – using SEBS thermoplastic elastomer moulded to a range of hard thermoplastic materials – are exported to those countries. The Japanese injection assembly technology company, which holds more than 200 industrial patents, said Kraiburg is the only TPE producer outside Japan that has acquired a licence from Taiseiplas. The company says this limited licence protects moulders from facing prosecution if they use SEBS from Kraiburg but not if they use SEBS from other suppliers. The patents concerned – US 5149589, JP 3100045 and JP 2888305 – cover the use of SEBS as a soft component moulded to hard components made out of hard plastics such as ABS, ABS/PC, PC, PMMA, PBT, PET and POM.
