The site in Kunshan will serve the automotive sectorThe site in Kunshan will serve the automotive sector A European automation and materials handling firm Wittmann is expanding its Chinese operation with a new factory. Construction work has begun on its new site in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, plans of which were revealed earlier this year in PRW . The company is now expecting a large number of large robot supply contracts for the automotive sector, which, according to Dr Werner Wittmann, is the fastest growing sector in the area. Production at the 28,000 sq metre site is expected to begin in September 2004. It will produce 300 linear robots a year as well as dryers and temperature control units.
