Monitoring the extrusion process is fast and easy with the C6 control system from KraussMaffei Berstorff

As part of the NPE in Orlando (March 23 to 27, 2015), KraussMaffei Berstorff is introducing the latest generation of the line control system to the American market. The C6 control system is now available worldwide for individual machines and standard lines. The company is demonstrating the movable version, one of four possible versions at the trade show booth (West Hall Level 2 Hall A, Booth W903).

Successful combination of tried-and-tested elements and innovative software components
"Our customers benefit from a good mixture of tried-and-tested functional features and the latest software components," explains Matthias Sievering, Manager of Extrusion Technology for KraussMaffei Berstorff in the USA. The C6 control system is equipped with the latest multitouch technology and state-of the-art hardware components. A large, capacitive 24-inch 16:9 full-HD touch screen provides a very clear picture and intuitive operation. Core functions of the advanced C5 control system are still included. "Our customers enjoy all the advantages of a high-performance and reliable program platform for controlling and monitoring an entire extrusion line," Sievering adds.

Fast, secure access management using RFID technology
"The access management via non-contact chip cards (RFID) is attracting wide interest among our customers," Sievering says. "In addition, remote diagnostics via the Internet are possible at any time. If there is any disruption to production, it can be detected and remedied quickly and easily."

Maximum flexibility—even for complex systems
The new control system offers the user an incredibly high level of flexibility. Parameter pages can be freely configured; moreover, customized display texts can be created. In addition, system components can be switched on or off based on requirements. The C6 control system is capable of directly controlling up to seven extruders. If multiple extruders are combined into one machine, almost any system complexity can be displayed. Various models are available as operating versions: the swivel-mounted version, the version integrated in the switching cabinet door, the boom-mounted version and the mobile version.

Premium quality products for market requirements of the future
With the new generation of the line control system and the proven product portfolio for machines and systems, KraussMaffei Berstorff is in a great position to participate in the upturn, particularly in the construction industry. The good connectivity of the control system with production planning systems is particularly significant here because many US-based processors are modernizing their machinery to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
