Fuzhou GT No 1 Plastic has bought a five-layer cast film line

Battenfeld Gloucester has sold a five-layer cast film line to Chinese company Fuzhou GT No 1 Plastic. Fuzhou produces cast polypropylene (CPP), PVC, PE and metallised films. The new line will produce CPP film for a variety of applications. These include metallised, laminated and retort packaging. The company will also make candy wrap on the line, Battenfeld said.

The line has a five-layer feedblock and autogauge die from Cloeren, which gives it the flexibility to produce five-layer barrier films. Battenfeld said the line had the capability to produce barrier film using polyamide or EVOH as the barrier layer and PP or polyethylene as skin layers and suitable tie layers.

Battenfeld said the line could produce 2.6-metre wide film, with CPP throughput of 5,110tpa. Line equipment includes three Battenfeld Contracool extruders, Accurablend automatic gravimetric blending and feeding system, a corona treater and a turret winder with a programmable turret control. The line is controlled by Battenfeld’s Extrol computer.
