The vertical injection moulding machine has a 1,600-tonne clamping forceThe vertical injection moulding machine has a 1,600-tonne clamping force Italian rubber injection moulding machinery manufacturer Rutil has built the largest machine in its 30-year history. Weighing 93 tonnes, the vertical injection moulding machine has a 23,000cm3 injection capacity and a 1,600-tonne clamping force. The monster machine was delivered to a customer in the Middle East. A second example is currently being built for a European customer. Each machine represents an investment of around E400,000. Vice-president Carlo Coscia said the large machines were unusual but were part of a general trend towards injection moulding of rubber. “Many people are now trying to move from compression to injection moulding, also with very big-sized parts.” He said the quality of injection moulded rubber products was better and less labour-intensive compared to compression moulding. The company, based in Lonate Ceppino, Varese, builds around 500 machines a year. Source: PRW.com Previous news |
