The group says it produces 'perfect' runnerless mouldings with any thermoplastic rubber

A rubber moulding system that is claimed to produce “perfect” runnerless mouldings with any thermoplastic rubber, will soon be available from Eastern Plastics Machinery. Waste rubber from thermoset moulding cannot be re-ground and moulded again, because the material cross-links during processing. Seiki’s Rudiz system is in production at several Japanese test sites, where Eastern said results had proved “excellent”.

Managing director Chris Siddall told PRW.com: “There has been significant interest in the Rudiz from UK-based companies.” He added that as well as providing cost savings, the Rudiz system would also help significantly with “environmental issues in disposal of runners from the rubber moulding companies”.

The company will take delivery of a test mould early in the new year. “Several companies are already talking to us about material trials,” he said. Eastern Plastics Machinery represents Seiki in the UK and mainland Europe.
