KraussMaffei Berstorff remains a reliable partner for Russian plastics processors

Despite ongoing political uncertainties, KraussMaffei Berstorff continues to tout its stable market position among longtime customers and is expanding its customer base simultaneously. Recently, Tehstroi and Nordpipe made short-term investments in PO pipe extrusion systems. The loyal KraussMaffei Berstorff customer Polyplastic granted the company an additional follow-up order, and a wide variety of profile extrusion projects are being carried out with Greiner Extrusion.

New customers Tehstroi and Nordpipe depend on reliable 36D single-screw technology for PO pipe extrusion
In the outgoing fiscal year, Tehstroi, one of the leading pipe manufacturers in Russia (headquartered in Kasan), commissioned two extrusion systems for manufacturing HDPE pipes in Karabulak (Inguschetia). "With the founding of our new plant in Karabulak, we are actively supporting the development of local infrastructure," explains Alexei Alexeev, General Director at Tehstroi. "We are convinced that we have a reliable partner in KraussMaffei Berstorff, a company that provides us with premium quality machines and systems from Germany," continues Alexeev. The two extrusion lines will produce pressurized water pipes (for the 160-400 mm and 400 to 630 mm ranges). "We are happy that we can continue to successfully serve the Russian market with our longtime, successful 36D single-screw series," explains Vadim Schwarz, Regional Sales Manager for Russia at KraussMaffei Berstorff. "Despite a massive depreciation of the Russian ruble and steep market losses, our market-leading position has been confirmed; simultaneously, we are even witnessing a long-term expansion of our market potential," emphasizes Schwarz. Tehstroi will supply products from the domestic market from its newly founded production location.

The multi-layered PE pipes with PP protective layer are highly resistant to crack propagation and represent an innovative product that meets the most demanding requirements. The co-extruded PE 100RC layer ensures high resistance to mechanical damage and high point loads. For this reason, the pipes have an incredibly long service life, even under harsh conditions.

Even in times of political and economic crisis, large producers depend on equipment from KraussMaffei Berstorff. Therefore, Polyplastic, the largest plastics processor in the region, is investing in various systems for modernizing its plastics processing systems.

Despite crisis, order situation in profile sector quite good
In collaboration with Greiner Extrusionstechnik, KraussMaffei Berstorff has successfully cemented its market position in profile extrusion. In the current fiscal year, orders for 20 extruders were recorded for the Commonwealth of Independent States, including several coextruders. All of the systems are used primarily in the production of window profiles and sills.
