 |  Subj: Press-releses

Automatik Plastics Machinery (a Dover Corp. member)’s subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Automatik Plastics Machinery Sdn Bhd was founded in 2009, and constituted the manufacturer’s fourth investment abroad following similar ventures in the USA, China and Taiwan. Two years later the 5th foreign company was established in Brazil. Today Automatik Plastics Machinery Sdn Bhd in KL is an important hub in APM’s ever growing international network of rotor grinding centers. The Kuala Lumpur facility was initially founded as a Technical Support Center, before transitioning to an independent sales and service center for the entire ASEAN region in 2008.

With the founding of the Malaysian daughter company in 2008 the pelletizing equipment specialist sent an important signal for further expansion of the company. The opening of the Kuala Lumpur subsidiary also represented a clear commitment to support the company’s customers in the South East Asia region. Today the grinding center offers its sharpening services to all SEA pelletizing companies, for any brand of cutting tools. “Thanks to the high grinding quality provided, the subsidiary is growing far beyond our expectations” Chew Phenghuat explains.

The Sales & Service Manager has been running the grinding center for 4 years and working for Automatik since 2006, i.e. for 7 years now, with Chew Phenghuat originally starting as a service engineer. The combination of a very good experience in grinding and deep knowledge of the granulating process, together with an unchallenged technical know-how of the equipment itself makes the Malaysian subsidiary an unbeatable team with regard to customer support. Customers highly appreciate the services provided by the local specialist to not only extend the life time of their cutting tools but also to offer the possibility to improve the product itself due to the deep process knowledge available. These days, consulting has a particularly large impact on the daily business. The wide range of different rotor materials combined with the various tooth profiles available makes it possible to offer customers the right solution for their process. “This combined knowledge is unique in this region and ultimately saves costs and improves the product quality of our customers,” Thomas Willemsen, Vice President After Sales, explains.

Thomas Willemsen presented Chew Phenghuat with a special commemorative award to mark the 5th anniversary of the subsidiary during the recent Chinaplas show in Shanghai.
