Anhui Guofeng Group has bought the first 10-metre line in China to process BOPP filmAnhui Guofeng Group has bought the first 10-metre line in China to process BOPP film Valmet Converting’s Atlas subsidiary claims to have sold the first ever 10-metre wide plastic film slitter rewinder to China. Anhui Guofeng Group in Hefei, Anhui Province, about 500km north of Shanghai, has placed the order. The company makes films, profiles and pipes as well as processing BOPP film. It is an existing Atlas customer, having bought a 6.8-metre machine in 1996 that processes 15,000tpa of BOPP film. The existing plant will be dwarfed by the new 10-metre line, which will produce a further 35,000tpa of BOPP film. According to Atlas, China is set to become the biggest and most technologically advanced producer of plastic film in the world; it has already installed 300 machines in the country. Atlas’s contract with Anhui Guofeng follows an earlier one for four machines in widths of 6.7 metres and 8.3 metres at Jiangsu Shuangliang Packaging Material Company to process 120,000 tonnes of BOPP film a year. Atlas says the unit will be only the fourth 10-metre line in the world. It says it has supplied the other three – one to the US and two to Italy. Source: PRW.com Previous news |
