Netstal enjoys success in China with comprehensive range of products and services

Netstal is also enjoying success in China with its product and innovative offensive, which was launched back in autumn 2013. There is growing demand on the Chinese market for the PET-LINE 2400, PET-LINE 4000 and ELION 4200 in particular. "Thanks to the expansion of the ELION range to include the 4200 kN clamping force, customers in China can now carry out all closure applications at maximum energy efficiency and with top output guaranteed," said David Tso, sales manager for Netstal brand machines in China. "Customers are recognizing that the new PET-LINE gives them a competitive advantage in their highly competitive market." Both product lines are characterized by low power consumption, high precision and short cycle times, which are increasingly important factors for Chinese customers who want to enjoy long-term success on the local market. In addition, the PET-LINE has an impressive space-saving and compact design. "Our new products are helping us meet growing local demand for high-quality machines with widely recognized high European engineering know-how," emphasized Tso proudly.

High level of expertise in the caps and closures sector
The caps and closures sector is a particularly well-suited addition to the PET business in China. What's more, demand for custom caps and closures is on the rise. Netstal machines are also ideal for use in this sector owing to their precision and speed, combining maximum output at minimum unit cost with all the design and quality advantages of injection molding thanks to new machine technology. "Furthermore, we are seeing growing potential for in-mold labeling (IML) technology in the Asian packaging market. It's right here that precision and speed are essential and, as the global market leader for high-speed IML systems, Netstal is very well-positioned," explained Tso. Netstal is also gaining ground in the Chinese medical technology sector: thanks to the all-electric ELION series, it is perfect for the manufacture of clean room components. "With well over 300 systems installed for PET preforms, closures and packaging parts, we have a wide customer base and extensive knowledge of market requirements. We will use this to continue to grow in China with our comprehensive product and service portfolio," said Tso.

Expansion of services offered
In order to ensure the long and successful service life of Netstal machines and maximize production efficiency, more comprehensive customer support over a machine's lifetime is increasingly becoming the focus of a long-term partnership. With this in mind, Netstal has refined its service range to its customers' benefit. Under the name 'Service & Solutions', the services offered by Netstal have been restructured and optimized in terms of content based on the four service life phases start-up, utilization, optimization and end phase. As a result, customers can always take advantage of added value. "The expanding plant in Haiyan is making it possible for us to provide our customers with spare parts even more quickly. As well as that, we can give machine demonstrations there and offer our customers training courses for their employees. It is a major and significant challenge for us to convert our Chinese customers to machines that have been manufactured in China. I'm confident that we will succeed," continued Tso.

Open house event at production plant in Haiyan during Chinaplas
The KraussMaffei Group is also continuing to tactically improve its strategic position on the Asian market with the expansion of production at its Chinese plant in Haiyan. As part of an open house event (April 23 to 25 2014) to coincide with the opening of the extension to the plant, customers and visitors to Chinaplas will have the opportunity to see the high performance and innovation of the KraussMaffei Group and its KraussMaffei, KraussMaffei Berstorff and Netstal brands for themselves. Netstal will show what its machines have to offer in the medical technology sector in the Haiyan plant's new demonstration centre. PET blood collection tubes will be manufactured on an all-electric ELION with a 2200 kN clamping force. As a demonstration plant for the beverage industry, Netstal installed a complete PET-LINE system with cooling and drying units in China back in September 2013. This system, which has a clamping force of 4000 kN, will also produce PCO28 preforms in time for the opening of the extension to the Haiyan plant.
