WITTMANN BATTENFELD at the Eurostampi in Parma| Subj: Press-releses ![]() At this year’s Eurostampi, WITTMANN BATTENFELD is exhibiting for the first time with two booths. In hall 6, booth I38, two machines from the proven PowerSeries will be on display, together with peripheral appliances as stand-alone solutions. Booth F68 has been dedicated to automation. In the area of machinery, WITTMANN BATTENFELD will demonstrate insert-molding of an electronic component on an EcoPower 110/350, using the IMIW process. IMIW stands for In-Mold Internal Welding, a process which makes it possible to overmold inserts with a gas- and water-tight sealing layer. With the IMIW process, it has become possible for the first time to make the connection directly between the contact surfaces. Here, the two previously injection-molded halves are joined together by injection-molding the connection between the contact surfaces from inside with the same plastic material. The finished parts show neither joint lines nor welding beads, and the joint is extremely tough. The EcoPower stands out by its high degree of precision and its energy efficiency, which is achieved by features such as utilization of the deceleration energy for the control system and for barrel heating. The second machine shown at the Eurostampi, a MicroPower 15/10, also stands out by its high precision and cost efficiency, in this case in the production of small and micro parts. At the Eurostampi, the MicroPower’s functionality will be demonstrated by producing a filter for medical technology. The filter is a micro filter made of POM with an 80µ grid and a part weight of 1.1 mg, which can be used in acoustical engineering as well as in micro pumps or inhalators. The micro filter will be manufactured on a MicroPower 15/10, which has been specially developed for high-precision injection molding of small and micro parts. It is produced in a 2-cavity mold with 3-platen injection. The machine on display is a completely integrated clean-room production cell with a rotary disk, parts removal handling, integrated quality inspection by imaging and a clean-room module. The machine’s clean-room-compatible design and the clean-room module, which enables a class-6 clean air environment according to ISO 14644-1, make it ideal for medical applications. In the application demonstrated at the fair, the parts are all injected, quality-inspected and deposited inside the clean room. In the area of temperature controllers, several models from the favorably priced TEMPRO basic and TEMPRO direct will be shown, to be precise, a TEMPRO basic C90, a TEMPRO basic C120 and a TEMPRO direct C120. In addition, the models TEMPRO plus D90-2 and TEMPRO plus D180-2 will be on display. The proven flow regulators from WITTMANN will also be exhibited on booth I38. Furthermore, WITTMANN BATTENFELD will show a DRYMAX Aton F120/300 M segmented wheel dryer, a GRAVIMAX B14 gravimetric dosing unit, as well as flow regulators and material loaders from the FEEDMAX series, including the new FEEDMAX S3 net, which combines the advantages of flexible stand-alone loaders with the easy-to-operate type of control system known from central conveying systems. To round off the range of peripheral equipment on display, a MAS 2 granulator will also be shown. It is a cutting mill with an open rotor consisting of two mobile and three fixed knives. Booth F68 will be entirely dedicated to automation. Here, a basketball station will be shown as a special highlight of the WITTMANN BATTENFELD trade fair presentation, which will impressively demonstrate the possibilities of interaction among several robots. The players taking part in the game are a W853 robot with B-servo, together with a W833 and a W832, both high-speed models. Source: WITTMANN BATTENFELD Previous news |
