GP Plastindustri installs 22 injection moulding machines at new plant in Germany

Ferromatik Milacron Europe has received its largest ever order for injection moulding machines from GP Plastindustri in Germany.

The company will supply 22 K-Tec machines of between 275 to 375 tonnes to GP Plastindustri’s new plant in Dresden-Gittersee, Germany, which makes screw caps and flap closures for Tetrapak.

GP Plastindustri established the factory in December 2002, investing E10m at the 16,600 sq metre site which employs 25 staff. The company, a specialist in injection moulded closures, is based in Gislaved, Sweden, and is part of French packaging group Sidel.

Meanwhile, Ferromatik premiered its first all-electric two-component moulding machine, the EE 155 2F, at the Fakuma fair last week. It demonstrated the machine with a glass reinforced PBT housing with a moveable 20% glass reinforced POM part.

Sales manager Hans Steupert told PRW.com he was not aware of such a machine being built elsewhere in the world. He added that Ferromatik’s two-component machine sales had been growing at 12% a year compared with its overall growth of 8%.
