Avance Industrial S.A. de C.V. with three machines at Plastimagen 2013 in Mexico City

Avance Industrial will exhibit a compact system for food containers and two additional applications for the consumer and packaging industry at the Plastimagen from the 12th to 15th of March 2013 in Mexico City. At its own booth 1214 as well as Erat, S.A. de C.V.'s booth 138, the Mexican representative of the German-Japanese machine producer Sumitomo (SHI) Demag will present to professional visitors the capabilities, precision and reproducibility of its El-Exis, SP, Systec and SE-EV machine series.

At the Plastimagen, Booth 1214, Avance Industrial will exhibit a high speed El-Exis SP 350-2500 machine with eight-fold tool from Stack Teck Inc., Ontario, Canada. 500 ml food containers are produced at a cycle rate of 2.9 seconds. These light weight, 18.8 g polypropylene containers have a wall thickness of 0.5 mm with a flow path/wall thickness ratio of 260.

The peripheral equipment consists of a compact, 2-circuit refrigeration machine from Frigel Firenze S.p.A., Florence, Italy, a conveyor belt from Tec Engineering Corp., Oxford, USA, and a material conveyor and dye metering unit from Motan-Colortronic GmbH, Friedrichsdorf, Germany.

The advantages of the high speed El-Exis SP hybrid machine become particularly obvious when producing products with thin walls. In spite of its high performance, the machine requires a minimum of energy, thus providing a significant contribution to economical production. The hybrid drive concept with energy recovery in parallel operation reduces the machine's power consumption by 40% in comparison to high speed hydraulic machines. Moreover the El-Exis SP offers customers a machine capable of optimal utilisation of the cycling times aimed at a market requiring maximum production speeds. Maximisation of the output results in a striking increase in productivity and supports the ambitions of packaging producers to attain higher production efficiency.

SE 180 EV produces 2 l containers for packaging sector
The fully electric SE 180 EV with closing pressure of 1,800 kN, produces 2 l containers with IML labels in one single tool from the Mexican manufacturer Epigsa, Guadalajara. An integrated 6-axis robot from YASAWA Motoman Mexico S.A. de C.V. positions the label in the tool and removes the finished moulded part. Imdecol Ltd., Israel supplies the equipment for the label magazine as well as the robot. These light weight, 18.8 g polypropylene containers have a wall thickness of 0.75 mm at the bottom with a flow path/wall thickness ratio of 200.

The state-of-the-art, fully electric SE-EV, supplied with a variety of innovative standard features, sets new standards in terms of precision, energy efficiency and stability of the injection moulding process.
One of the standard features of the SE-EV is zero-moulding. Zero-moulding (injection moulding without faults or losses) offers exceptional accuracy at low mould filling pressure and reduced closing force.

Systec 210-840 produces fans for the consumer sector
At booth 138 Erat, S.A. de C.V., Querétarodes, Mexico, Avance Industrial is exhibiting together with its long-time partner Sepro Robotique, La Roche-sur-Yon, France, a hydraulic Systec 210-840, for producing fans with a simple tool. The moulded parts have a shot weight of 27 g and are produced of HDPE. The high performance S5-25 linear robot from Sepro Robotique removes the finished parts.

The peripheral equipment consists of a compact, 2-circuit refrigeration machine from Frigel Firenze S.p.A., Florence, Italy, a conveyor belt from Moretto S.p.A., Massanzago, Italy and gas injection moulding equipment from Bauer Compressors, Inc., Norfork, USA.

In the meantime Sumitomo (SHI) Demag offers this fully regulated, all purpose, hydraulic Systec machine in 19 sizes with closing pressure ranges from 350 to 20,000 kN; up to 1,200 kN with a fully hydraulic clamping unit, above 1,300 kN with a toggle type clamping unit.
