Plastic Omnium to adjust its automotive production base in Germany

The decline in the European automobile market and the carmakers industrial strategies have led to persistent excess production capacity in Western Europe. Given this environment, Plastic Omnium has launched a restructuring project of its automotive
business in Germany.

The Company announced today its intention of discontinuing the production of bumpers at its Eisenach-Thuringia plant in Germany, which currently has circa 200 employees. Local management has started consultations with employee representatives. The measure does not affect the plant’s fuel tank/fuel system operations.
Plastic Omnium will maintain a strong presence in Germany with nine production facilities and four development centers employing a total of 1,400 people.
