With its new DXH (higher viscosity) and DXM (medium viscosity) grades, injection moulders and sheet extruders can now mix these polyanine polymers directly at the machine, eliminating the intermediate compounding process. Announcing the new grades at PRW’s and EPN’s Electrical Compounds and Additives conference this week in Neuss, Germany, Panipol president Jukka Perento said that dry mixing of polymer with Panipol DX gave good results due to the self-organising nature of the material. Perento did warn, however, that polyanine is dark green in colour, making it unsuitable for ESD products in lighter shades. Panipol’s current capacity for the DX grades amounts to 170tpa. The exclusivity agreement between Panipol and compounder RTP in the area of ESD compounds has now expired, leaving the Finnish company to work freely on ESD projects with other compounders in Europe, such as with Delta Kunststoffe in Weeze, Germany.
