Bayer Technology Services (BTS) honored the outstanding graduates from the Biochemical and Chemical Engineering programs at TU Dortmund University, further solidifying its partnership with the renowned school. The honorees were Linda Lange for biochemical engineering and Martin Dirks for chemical engineering. Both graduated with a grade point average of 1.4 on a descending scale of 1 to 6.

"Qualified young employees, particularly in technical and scientific subjects, are of particular importance for an innovative company," said Dr. Günter Bachlechner, Head of Technology Development and Senior Vice President of Bayer Technology Services at the start of the ceremony for some 100 newly graduated engineers plus their parents, friends and professors. "Smart minds with innovative ideas are the best investment into the future. The professors of the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering at TU Dortmund University are a unique team of internationally renowned top scientists," said Bachlechner, and wished the graduates a smooth start to a successful career.

A significant percentage of the young engineers who have joined Bayer Technology Services in recent years are graduates of TU Dortmund University, with which BTS is conducting numerous research projects, including INVITE GmbH. The research center INVITE operates jointly by BTS and TU Dortmund University and focuses on developing efficient and flexible production processes that conserve resources. One example is its cooperation with a number of European partners to create a model for a standardized modular "factory of the future."
