New product brands from KRAIBURG TPE| Subj: Press-releses The market launch of the new compound brands COPEC and For-Tec E has been heralded by a coveted award. Deepan Kannan, industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan, explained the decision of the London Jury: “Innovative products from KRAIBURG TPE such as COPEC and For-Tec E have overcome the technical limitations of conventional SBCs, e.g. with respect to mechanical values or adhesion. Today we are honouring a company that has made an outstanding achievement in product development, promoted pathbreaking technologies and provided solutions with added value. It has demonstrated potential for new applications and thus acquiring new customers.” “The Innovation Award strengthens us in our resolve to explore new applications and chemical challenges for TPE together with our customers. Our COPEC and For-Tec E compounds have already been launched in the USA with great success, now we will replicate this in Europe,” said Oliver Zintner, Director Europe, who took possession of the award together with Ernst Lifka, key account manager Europe. Both TPE series are pinpointed for use in the consumer sector, in which they lend products special haptic qualities and are resistant to all influences of daily use, e.g. hand sweat, alcohol or weather. Surfaces covered with the new special TPE COPEC demand to be touched. With these new compounds KRAIBURG TPE has succeeded in creating a unique haptic quality for its consumers, similar to velvet and silk. Products in the consumer electronics sector such as computer mice, games consoles or ear plugs will clearly stand out from the competition. Since these devices are frequently held in the hand and subject to heavy use over their service life, in the development of COPEC compounds special attention was paid to high resistance to skin fats and many cleaning agents. In addition, COPEC gives the final products a high-quality finish which is dirt repellent and minimises slippage of the device, e.g. on smooth surfaces, without a stoppy or sticky feel. The TPEs of the COPEC series exhibit excellent adhesion properties in the multi-component injection moulding process with thermoplastic materials such as ABS, PC or PC/PBT. The For-Tec E series of compounds was specially developed for reliable adhesion to semi-aromatic polyamides and PA 6.6. These adhesion properties in the 2K injection moulding process permit the use of TPE, for example in the form of seals or plug-in connections for mobile phones and MP3 players. Similar to COPEC, For-Tec E was developed for applications in consumer electronics and is additionally used in the power tools sector. Both TPE series are characterised by particularly high resistance: hand sweat, weather and UV rays – none of these have any effect on TPE components. They are thus predestined for continuous electronics use or high-quality grip surfaces. Because KRAIBURG TPE completely dispenses with latex, PVC or heavy metals in the manufacture of the compounds, there is no health risk. Thanks to a sophisticated dye system the company can fulfil almost any wish of device manufactures with regard to colour. Source: KRAIBURG TPE Previous news |
