BASF Invites Customers at the Polyurethane Trade Fair UTECH

Around 100 exhibitors will be showing their latest portfolios of the versatile special plastic polyurethane (PU) at UTECH, Europe’s most prestigious trade fair for the polyurethane industry, at Maastricht, Holland, from 17 to 19 April 2012. As one of the leading PU companies BASF will be presenting its innovative and sustainable polyurethane solutions on a 300 square metre stand under the motto “We create chemistry” (Stand No. 1390).

“We innovate to make our customers more successful – and we can demonstrate that really well at the UTECH,” said Dr. Uwe Hartwig, Senior Vice President BASF Polyurethanes Europe. “Due to the market situation, which is currently rather volatile, we will use the trade fair extensively as a forum for dialogue. We would like to invite all customers to use UTECH as an opportunity to engage in intensive discussion with us.” This is why the BASF stand at the trade fair has been given an additional upper floor with a dialogue and lounge area, reserved exclusively for discussion with customers. In addition, BASF has announced a world premiere for the UTECH. “We don’t want to give away the secret. Let’s just say it concerns an extraordinary design concept with forward-looking polyurethane material solutions,” said Hartwig.

At the BASF stand a large selection of innovative and sustainable PU system solutions for a wide range of uses awaits the trade visitor. Modern and energy-efficient polyurethane solutions developed by BASF help the construction business and the automotive industry, for example, to save resources sustainably and show how cars can be made lighter, insulation material more efficient and refrigerators more economic.

For the manufacture of the especially versatile material PU BASF also offers an assortment of highly efficient catalysts, polyols, additives and solvents from its globally unique portfolio of chemical intermediates.

Along with high supply reliability through backwards integration, and global expertise in the world of PU, the company provides local presence for its customers and extensive service. In addition, BASF gives support to the development of innovative products and processes.

Alongside the UTECH Conference BASF is represented by five technical contributions. Experts from research and development, as well as sales and marketing, will report on further developments in polyurethane systems, innovative technologies and new concepts. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of polyurethane, Dr. Uwe Hartwig will give a presentation on the theme “75 Years of Market Innovation and Development with PU Systems”.
